The vegetables used in our cuisine at Gion Hayakawa are cultivated by Mr Minoru Araki, a farmer in Ichijōji, Sakyō Ward, who has been growing Kyoto vegetables for nearly thirty years to preserve Kyoto's traditional varieties.
Furthermore, we also harvest directly from the farm of Mr. Otokawa within the Shugakuin Imperial Villa grounds.

We have designed this experience so you may enjoy tea house entertainment with geiko and maiko.
It may seem rather formal, but we invite you to relax and enjoy this unique Kyoto experience.
Note: Adding a maiko costs an additional ¥165,000 (three maiko, two-hour session).

Our teppanyaki counter seats, where the chef cooks before your eyes, offer a special experience engaging all five senses: conversation with the chef, the sizzle and aroma of the meat, and the artistry of plating. Our private rooms blend Japanese and Western styles, featuring traditional tatami rooms with tables placed within authentic Kyoto townhouses. These spaces exude a chic, refined tranquillity. Additionally, our detached private rooms, converted from a Meiji-era storehouse, offer distinct personalities: the ground floor features sunken kotatsu tables, while the upper floor has a secluded hideaway feel.
Ingredients are meticulously selected. Our signature Yonezawa beef is sourced directly from the Yonezawa Beef Meat Corporation. Premium Kobe beef is also available. Furthermore, alongside fresh seafood for teppanyaki, you can savour seasonal local Kyoto vegetables.

This establishment has welcomed a host of distinguished guests, from President Clinton to Hollywood stars.
Footballer Kazuyoshi Miura was also a frequent visitor.
To enhance our guests' relaxation, the second floor features the Ashiya Gallery. Here, we exhibit artworks embodying Kyoto's essence – calligraphy, paintings, antiques, prints, and ceramics.
